Happy long weekend everyone! For anyone who hasn’t had a chance to stop by and see it or to anyone who loved it and has been pondering which one to purchase, the lovely show From A W I N D O W, by will be coming down May 31st. From A W I N D O W is an exhibition of screen print monotypes on fabric by artist Mariana Vidal-Escabi, offering an intimate glimpse into the profound connection between an artist and her studio space.
The series originates from Vidal-Escabi’s studio, A W I N D O W, a cherished space that boasts breathtaking views and spectacular daily sunsets. These natural spectacles, experienced from a place of personal happiness and belonging, serve as the primary subject and emotional catalyst for the work.
The resulting monotypes are impressions of these moments, capturing the feeling of watching the phenomenon and acting as a timestamp of a specific place and time. Presented in the form of a postcard, the works convey a sense of shared experience and longing, echoing the sentiment of “wish you were here”—a desire for others to witness the beauty she encounters daily from her window.
