Every LENA MAE piece begins with a fabric I fall in love with. It’s one of my favorite parts of the process: searching through deadstock fabrics like a kid in a candy store, trying to find that one hidden gem.

There are many reasons why I choose to work with deadstock: it’s better for the planet, since these materials would otherwise go to waste, and producing new fabrics is far more harmful to the environment. It also allows me to source exceptional quality fabrics in smaller quantities, at a more accessible price. I honestly don’t think there’s another way I’d be able to work with the same luxurious textiles used by houses like Dior.

I recently fell in love with the perfect 100% silk fabric, and I can’t wait to show you what I made with it.
