I don’t think I’ve told but technically we owe our friendship to her book More, Please. About a year ago(??) our mutual friend and genius story posted the freshly-live preorder link for Emma’s book and I immediately was like WOW SOUNDS COOL WHO WROTE THIS and followed Emma not six seconds later. A few weeks later we’d end up at a party where we did that “hey I know you from Instagram” thing and I definitely thought Emma would be too cool for school but instead we became almost immediate friends. Emma, you are such a magical, loving, generous, beautiful person. You put your whole heart (and p***y!) into this book and it SHOWS!!! The world is certainly a little better now that this book is in it. Thank you for trusting me to style you for your readings and book events ❤️❤️. Here are two of the first looks we put together, featuring a stunner of a dress so generously gifted for the occasion. I saw this dress months ago and IMMEDIATELY thought of Emma who, like me, lives for a t***y window. Extra points because the asymmetrical hem perfectly shows off their thigh tat! Thank you Mayes!! Getting to style Emma in these looks that are all independent designers and/or second hand was the icing on the cake and reflective of what I know matters to both Emma and me. Shoutout where the rest of these pieces were purchased from — excited for you guys to see the rest of our looks. Now enough from me, do yourself a favor and go buy a copy of More, Please from your local bookstore and not Amazon!!!!
