Jaromir Jagr exploded onto the NHL scene as a 18-year-old phenom, immediately helping the Penguins secure back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992. During his eleven seasons in Pittsburgh, he racked up five Art Ross Trophies and the 1999 Hart Trophy. This specific "Robopen" design was introduced in 1992 following those Cup wins, and while the Penguins never achieved the same success under this design, it's one of those nostalgic 90s hockey logos everyone remembers.

With the Flyers being playoff relevant again, how about a throwback?! The 2012 Winter Classic was hosted at Citizens Bank Park in Philly. Although the Flyers ultimately fell to the Rangers, Giroux put up a highlight reel goal, and did so wearing this clean sweater. The Flyers liked these so much they brought them back as their alternates from 2014-16.

Dominik Hasek redefined goaltending in the 90s with his chaotic style. During his nine seasons in Buffalo, "The Dominator" racked up six Vezinas and two Hart Trophies while leading the Sabres to the 1999 Stanley Cup Final. It’s great to see the current squad finally back in the mix and ending that long playoff drought. Buffalo hockey is BACK, and I bet you'll see a lot of Hasek jerseys in the stands!

Not every day I get a FPHL (Federal Prospects Hockey League) jersey! Founded in 2019, the River Dragons play out of the Civic Center in Columbus, Georgia. After the teams' inaugural season was curtailed by COVID, the River Dragons followed up the next season with the league's best record and won the "Ignite Cup".

The 2023 All-Star Game leaned into the Reverse Retro program, reviving the legendary 1994-97 "Star" template. The design flipped the script on the 90s original, replacing purple and black with a South Beach palette of electric teal and pink. Definitely one of the best ASG jerseys in recent memory!

In the 90s, Starter paved the way for "fashion" jerseys -- jerseys in alternate colorways never worn on ice, but looked sick all the same. When Reebok became the NHL's exclusive jersey manufacturer in 2007, they would eventually come out with their own lines of fashion jerseys. This Rangers example was the "Black Ice" model, with an all black base and sublimated gradient numbering.

GOOD RIDDANCE! As a Devils fan and avid jersey collector, I am so happy tonight is the last night the Devils are wearing these monstrosities. The design was both uninspired (rip-off of the Hawks 2019 WC, and don't say "IT WAS THE NEWARK BULLDOGS". WHO TF ARE THE NEWARK BULLDOGS?!). Next season the NHL is introducing the "Hometown Remix" jersey series, and I can only hope us Devils fans will get the black alternate jersey we deserve!

The Caps took on the Pens at Heinz Field on New Years Day 2011 in the NHL’s first-ever night-time Winter Classic. In front of over 68,000 fans and under a steady rain, the Capitals prevailed 3-1.

Backstrom recorded the primary assist on Mike Knuble’s power-play goal, which tied the game at 1-1 and shifted the momentum back to Washington.

The 1989 Calgary Flames defeated the Montreal Canadiens in a six-game Stanley Cup Final, marking the only time the Flames have won the Cup and notably, the only time an opposing team has ever clinched the Stanley Cup at the Montreal Forum.

The 2018 NHL Stadium Series game was held on March 3, 2018, at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The Leafs took on the Capitals under in a game paying tribute to the U.S. Navy and Canadian Armed Forces. The leafs sported this clean white design, with the "Ready. Aye. Ready." inscription on the collar paying tribute to the Canadian Royal Navy. The Leafs' team motto "Honour. Pride. Courage." is embossed on the sleeve striping.
