Our inner child.

Every time we undergo trauma a wound appears. A fragment of ourselves is created at a point in time.

These fragments then proceed to spend the rest of our years trying to get attention. To get love and care.

The little child, the wild teenager, the lost adult is waiting for us to go back in time and collect that fragment of our soul.

In order to be whole again. In order to be complete.

I have made so many soul journeys to my inner children. I keep telling her Ho'oponopono.

I am sorry.

That was a trick question. Answer: All of the above!

Talk to almost any South East Asian woman and she will tell you (regretfully) about all the outfits that are hanging in her closet.

The guilt of wearing it only once or twice. The waste of such a beautiful piece. The impact on our beautiful planet and the resources consumed to create this outfit.

We all share these feelings. But, there is something we can do about it.

Stop and start making a difference.

What is this account about?

We have a healthy dose of Indian fashion, some sprinkling of women empowerment all circulating around a theme of helping this planet.

But if you look closely, you will see that we are focusing on only one demographic.

The Southeast Asian woman.

This hashtag represents a cause that is tailor-made for us. This is a call to set aside the pettiness, the jealousies, and the "mine" and "yours".

We have watched "recycling" go from a trend to the norm. We have watched the increased awareness around "fast fashion". We are well aware of the implications to our planet.

But as Southeast women, we know have "kapde" that are single wear fashion. We have worn outfits twice and now they are just sitting there.

This hashtag is for us to recognize that if every Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi girl went thru their clothes - they would find at least 3 outfits that can be RELOVED by another woman.

Such a simple call to action can result in a real difference to this planet. It is a cause we can be proud of as Southeast Asian women.

So we ask humbly, will you join the cause?
