I've been there so I know what I'm talking about. Trying to hold on desperately to what the world was offering, but at what cost. Letting go was the best decision I ever made. I'm so glad I discovered Jesus Christ. Better yet, I'm glad he chose me.

THINGS BEGAN TO GET WORSE 😔

INTO FOSTER CARE... My younger brother and I are separated. No communication between foster parents. We only get to see each other during supervised visitations at the foster care agency.

I went to several foster homes and 1 in particular was a foster mom who was a single mother with a teenage daughter who couldn't stand me. She would intentionally do things to sabotage me so her mom would get rid of me. One night she raised her hand to hit me with a house phone and I reported her. They removed me immediately.

My last foster home was a family from down south (one of the Carolina's). They treated me the best. This foster mom wanted to adopt me but I wanted to go back to my dad. I thought surely things had changed in the 2 years we were removed from the home. Boy was I wrong...

THE MIGRATION TO AMERICA-The excitement of moving to America with my dad was short-lived. Abuse began in my home. Physical mostly but emotional and mental followed closely. Our stepmom was our protector. She stood between us and him(my dad) many days.

I vividly recall a time when my dad busted in the bathroom while I was in the shower and beat me for something I didn't do. It was my younger brother from another mother. I was covered in welts all over my body. He never apologized after finding out I was innocent shortly thereafter. I kept it to myself and hid the scars.

11 years old in after school and hear your name over the P.A. system to come to the principal's office. Trouble at home...

I get on my block to find squad cars outside my house making a scene. My baby brother wouldn't let the police in so they used me to talk to him to open the door. And just like that after about 7-8 months in this country we end up in foster care...

Make it a habit during prayer to ask the Lord to keep your mind stayed on him. It’s one way we keep out all the issues we deal with and maintain our peace.
