I heard on the news ppl have been dressing up in inflatable unicorn and t-rex costumes to replicate hazmat suits to give their loved ones a hug jaja , Maybe I shall create my own version of a Hazmat suit... Stay tuned & stay safe!

I recently posted about the "KAREN JOAN" self-framed purse I made in honor of my lovely momma for Mother's day! I am a firm believer in finding unique ways to reduce material waste and using my "scrap" white calf hair leather I was able to hand cut these tiny hexagonal shapes and zig-zag stitch them together to create this patchwork piece. I feel as though I was able to create something beautiful with "scrap" materials that others might have dismissed to the trash can. I think this design truly evokes my Mom's powerful ability to work with the cards life deals to her. Being a cancer survivor she truly proved her mental strength and ability to make light out of a terrifying situation. She is also one of my biggest inspirations

This is the "VERONICA" backpack that I literally worked on endlessly seconds before leaving my house to go to the airport. I was so determined to create a backpack to carry with me during the Craft the Leather trip that I ended up missing my flight to Italy and hand-stitching the frontal lock closure on at the airport gate as I waited for the next available flight!

I love keeping design journals and making custom book covers for each! Pictured here, Mia is taking a look inside my first design journal. I get so many ideas that I usually draw crazy looking rough concept sketches that look like chicken scratch but I totally know what it means. I think it's so important to design with purpose. Every time I incorporate a feature in my designs it definitely has an underlying symbolic meaning waiting to be discovered!

This is one of my favorite designs I have ever created. This is the "ICOSA" purse that was actually an extra credit project for my Geometry course at FIT. The mandatory courses at FIT always inspired my design aesthetic somehow. I became so infatuated by sacred geometry and still am to this day! I truly believe the universal language is mathematics!

From Day 1, most of my handbags have been named after influential women in my life. Pictured here is the first backpack I ever made in my 1st semester at FIT and have used from2013-present. It has been unnamed, therefore I dedicate this design to my dad, this is the "EDUARDO" backpack. I carried every necessity within this extra-large backpack. As a commuting student from NJ-NYC, I quickly realized I needed to create my own backpack to meet my functionality standards and fashionable needs. The backpack would easily weigh over 20 lbs when I was done filling it with my supplies and materials. I think naming this backpack after my dad is completely fitting since he gave me every tool, opportunity, and advice on how to succeed in life and I'm forever grateful for his endless love and support

I will be sharing archived work from my "Designing Fever" collection from a photoshoot taken in January 2017 over the next few days.

This collection features:
- various original handcrafted handbag designs that I created throughout my years at FIT 2013-2017
-one of the handmade hats that I made in my first and only millinery course
- my original design called "VLNYC" in a gold foiled medium heat pressed onto a vintage American Flag I found in my attic
-handmade book cover from my desk accessories course
-&&& last but not least every look that my good friend Mia is adorned in was styled by me and came from my wardrobe
