Born on a ranch in Red Lodge, Montana, Alice Greenough was one of the first women to become a saddle bronc rider. Throughout her storied career, she rode broncos and performed feats of trick riding at rodeos around the world, including stunt work in various Hollywood productions. She and her siblings, Marge Greenough and Turk Greenough, also prizewinning bronc and bull riders, gained the nickname “The Riding Greenoughs” throughout the 1930s and 1940s.

For her outstanding abilities and pioneering spirit—Greenough continued riding broncs on her own rodeo circuit after women were banned from the sport—Alice was the first woman to be inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 1975. She is also a member of the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame and the Rodeo Hall of Fame.

Featured above are historical photographs of Alice, alongside the Chambray Braid Western Shirt and the Stables Long Sleeve Tee, launching tomorrow at 11AM ET with other new Fall styles.

The Spring 2027 collection, a continuation of Rodeo Bodeo, explores the peak of the American cowboy era, about 1865 through the 1890s—the twenty-five year period of open range between Texas and Montana, before the adoption of barbed wire cordoned off great swaths of the plains.

This exploration includes fabric and embellishment details (including historical piqué knits and antique silhouettes) as well as cultural references. A motif running through the collection, for instance, is Jules Verne Allen, an early cowboy musician who worked the Texas cattle trails before retiring to a career in country music. Other garments nod to key decades of Western culture, referencing rope tricks from the 1930s or the commercialization of Westernwear in the 1960s.

Along with Fall 2026, the collection is dedicated to Emily’s childhood pony Checkers, a retired barrel racer.

The Spring 2027 look book is now live on Vogue Runway.

The Tokyo Stamp Tee, only available in our Tokyo store, is printed with the title page of an antique book in the Bode library—Japan’s Message to America, a small volume compiled in 1914. It contained essays from prominent Japanese statesmen, scholars, and businesspeople, teaching Americans about the country of Japan. The book was a gesture of friendship and cultural exchange between the two countries.
