Out from the Archives: Introducing our newest series, where we revisit standout designs from the Pamella Roland archives and celebrate memorable moments from our past collections.

Today, we’re looking back at a look from our Spring/Summer 2008 collection. A crimson chiffon halter gown finished with a leather belt. The design captured the bold allure of the Pamella Roland woman while reflecting the effortless glamour of our early ready to wear collections.

The gown was shortly featured in Natasha Bedingfield’s “Pocketful of Sunshine” music video, directed by Alan Ferguson and released on April 18, 2008. Flowing beautifully on Natasha, the design became an unforgettable piece from the era and remains one of our favorite archival moments.

This year’s Whitney Gala was such a memorable evening, made all the more meaningful by being surrounded by dear friends and wonderful company. My husband Dan joined me for the celebration, alongside so many beautifully dressed guests. June Ambrose looked stunning in our Fall 2025 leopard print caped gown, while Megan Hilty lit up the evening in our Resort 2026 mirror embroidered cocktail alongside her husband Brian Gallagher. My friends Scott and Rebecca Weirda were a joy to spend the evening with, with Rebecca wearing our Resort 2026 polka dot dress. Nigel Barker and Cristen Barker also looked fantastic, with Cristen in our Fall 2025 rose skirt cocktail. It was especially meaningful to celebrate Adam D. Weinberg, Julie Mehretu, and Fern Kaye Tessler for their extraordinary work for The Whitney Museum.
