We are empowering women to wear hijab with confidence and changing how they shop for their everyday needs and special occasions. Haute Hijab was co-founded by a husband and wife team on a journey to disrupt the fashion industry by including an underrepresented group of women who aren’t acknowledged in the mainstream. We started the “modesty movement” when we first launched and advocated that just

as women have the right to show more skin, they should also have the power and right to cover-up without question.

My Dad gets in today! Baba’s NYC visits have become some of my favorite times - we walk around the city, talk about life, find little enclaves in parks to pray, meet random people on the street and strike up conversations, sit and have coffee. It’s what I imagine my Dad’s life might have been had he not left Beirut.

To all my Lebanese family, I hope you are all coming out of this nightmare with your warrior spirit, your beautiful heart and most of all your playful soul. Nothing can break us.

All Lebanese have known is war. It’s the reason I’m so strong. Because that spirit has been passed down to me even though I don’t call Lebanon home. But how long do we have to be strong?

Long live Lebanon and everyone who calls it home
