Working on a menswear collection from the loom up, you could say!

Monica Mcmurry and I have been combining our passion for menswear and creating a collection where we get to collaborate with some of our favorite textile artists, like Alix Johnson , who designed and wove this special cotton linen plaid fabric for us to work with. Seeing it come off the loom here is so exciting!!

The collection will be shown at the Gent Fashion Week fashion show in October. Can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been working on!

This piece was shaped by Sarah’s beautiful quilts and naturally dyed textiles, and a shared focus on honoring the material instead of chopping them up too much. With simple shapes (just a few seams) and very intentional, hand-finished details ! lots of bias tape made and sewn by hand 😅

I love the contrast of sharp pleats in the back of the top with the softness of the gathered skirt.

I’m so thankful I got to be part of this collaboration, and really excited to have had the chance to work alongside my forever mentor and friend to help bring this look to life. It felt like such a special process from start to finish.

Just returned from an inspiring couple of weeks in NYC, where I worked as a costume PA on a film project with the visionary Donna Zakowska .Observing her approach to costume design was a rare treat and a reminder of the dedication and artistry required to bring characters to life on screen. I’m grateful for the chance to have explored the Garment District and for the wisdom shared by the costume team ( ) on staying organized and focused.
