Not Your Mom’s is a fresh brand that began in the summer of 2016 as a sole proprietorship, creating colorful designs with distressed denim apparel to combine fashion and fine art. This recycled denim has been specifically searched for in various vintage shops located in New York. The clothing is then bleached, hand painted and/or dyed with eco-friendly mixtures, cut up and recreated, and embellished with rare findings like patches, brooches, buttons, and more.

Super fun commission. We won’t be seeing too much of this acid wash anymore, but this piece was a fabulous transition from what we’ve been used to seeing of NYM to where we’re going… Peep the cyanotype and hand-painted moments 👀 I love that it’s hard to tell what’s what from a distance.

Looking forward to creating more collage-like applications on denim 💙🖌️
