Brave Enterprises

Brave Enterprises Brave Enterprises activates the science of bravery to help people do the stuff that scares them. We Brave Enterprises helps people be more brave.

We study bravery and fear, and develop original programming to get people thinking and practicing new behaviors that will lead them to action. Bravery Training is deliberate practice, which critically includes confidence, leadership and emotional intelligence development. Brave supports corporations, groups, teams and individuals. Witness brave action.

This is one way to get more brave. When we start a session, participants are witnessing Brave Activators in vulnerability, in passion, in devotion, and in joy.

They do this with growing fear anticipating doing the work for themselves.

You can’t deny bravery when you see it at play all around.

This is a sacred day at Brave as we open up the Sophomore Retreat for - we’ve been braving with them since 2018.

What would you do with more bravery?

You probably haven’t thought about it. But, I bet you have thought about what you might do with more confidence.

I bet you could list 3-1,000 things you’d do with more confidence.

In our dataset of 8,000+ people and counting, bravery and confidence are correlated with statistical significance. So, when you feel more brave, you also feel more confident. When you feel less brave, you also feel less confident.

What does this mean? It means that bravery is a lever to confidence.

Practicing outside of your comfort zone is a WAY to increase your confidence. HOT DAMN.

What’s even crazier? We find that people who self-report feeling LESS confident than their peers before a Brave Session, actually get MORE brave in our sessions relative to those who report feeling AS or MORE confident than their peers.

As an incredible example, the data from a recent session with Middle School Fall sport female athletes at shows the girls’ confidence on average increased by 21% in a 90-minute session.

Notably, for those kids who reported feeling LESS confident than their peers, confidence increased by 59% in that 90-minute session.

The short story: A Brave Enterprises Session will increase average confidence in your whole group. But for those who feel like they don’t have it, who want it, or who need it, a Brave Session disproportionately increases confidence - up to 3x more!

This is what practicing your bravery can do.

Honesty is bravery, especially when you seek to know and tell the truth of yourself.

This is why we do so much reflection in our sessions. And, why we utilize the sequence of question to help guide a deeper understanding of self.

Try our Fear Discovery sequence:
1. What is the scariest situation you’ve been through?
2. What are you scared of right now?
3. What is your BIGGEST FEAR right now?
4. What are your fear symptoms - how you feel fear physically, mentally, emotionally in your body and mind?
5. What is the hardest thing you know to be true about yourself?
6. How does that hard truth HELP you and how does it HURT YOU?

Knowing these answers is the most critical first step.

🔺 Limited time merch drop! 🔺

I am scared.

When I was at the top of my game, I was scared.
When I failed out of college, I was scared.
When I started each of my businesses, I was scared.
When I sold them, I was scared.

I was scared this morning and I’ll be scared tomorrow.

I’m scared because I’m going after big sh*t. I’m chasing big improvement. I’m running after big goals. I’m reaching for big joy.

This is why I don’t love the word fearless. And why Brave Enterprises made this sweatshirt.

If you want one, we are running doing a limited merch drop. Get $5 off with code BRAVEMORE

We get to do this work a lot, which we love. It’s especially great when we get in the rooms with people who love what they do and the athletes they work with.

Our Founder has been in the business of competence-building since she took her first gig coaching in 7th grade!

The are so many people out there who have played with her, played for her on her previous teams that included athletes from over 40 states, and those who have encountered her or worked with her along the way, know that she stands for and values passion, bravery, and expression above all else.

Thank you to Michele Dombrowski at for bringing Brave to all female athletes.

“My initial connections to BRAVE go back to Crista’s XTEAM days. Every single player we connected to through that program were strong leaders for us in addition to being ideal teammates. They were rockstars as people, and I still treasure their time here.

Knowing Crista’s programming has had an impact on their lives for so long means I’ve definitely been keeping tabs and really wanted to bring BRAVE to a larger Sewanee population. As the mom of two teenage daughters, I also feel the value on an even deeper level.

Confidence is absolutely my favorite word in regards to student-athlete development; it’s something we want our players to explore and grow in. Athletics pushes athletes beyond their comfort zones; the goal is to take the lessons learned on the field into their everyday lives. Sometimes that’s easy; a lot of the time, it is really hard. The Fun with Fear program was an energetic way for the athletes to explore tough concepts with their peers and do some hard self-reflection. The impact of having all of our women’s teams there at once was really special.

There were a lot of smiles, many deep thoughts, and much to be proud of . . . so thank you BRAVE and thank you to our supporters and student-athletes for an amazing event.

What sticks with me is seeing them embrace being empowered in such a large group as opposed to being intimidated…that they could find their voice and gain confidence in using it.”

Environment impacts your mindset.

We work with teams to bring bravery right to the fields ands courts. You warm up your legs in order to sprint, so why not warm up your spirit to be able to go for that interception?

When you value the fear kids have in order to create an environment for brave action, you make way for self-efficacy. With repeated practice, players develop agency in their own courage and deploy to meet their fear.

Fear is fuel; it’s a cue to be brave.

Bravery is a tool to manage fear; a lever to confidence.

Creating an environment where bravery is a response to fear - little or big - helps kids to establish thought and behavior patterns that help them in their sport and beyond.

So, it’s not about fearing less.
It’s about braving more.

It’s hard out there.

With the rise of mental health issues and the pervasive nature of fear, Brave is so grateful to get on campuses and create space for self-reflection that leads to self-expression.

Our objectives are simple:
🔺 Guide people outside their comfort zones through joy
🔺 Make discovery of self the bedrock of their experience
🔺 Bear witness to the fulfillment of a community of people doing things they never thought they could/would.

female athletes were fierce and vulnerable, they were packed with fervor and willing to get outside their comfort zones. Some notable impact data from this session with 200 female athletes:
• 86% took brave action in the session
• 100% witnessed brave action in the session
• 12% increase in self-reported bravery
• 14% increase in self-reported confidence

Let’s get back to how hard it is out there.

For so many college students, more often for female-identifying college students, they do not go into our session FEELING as confident as their peers. In other words, they are at a self-identified confidence deficit.

For this school, 23% of the female athletes (compared to only 6% of the male athletes we surveyed at this same school) said they were LESS confident than their peers, which results in confidence scores that are 38% lower than female-athletes who say they feel AS or MORE confident than their peers.

Confidence scores for the 23% of female athletes who felt LESS confident than their peers increased by 38% during our Brave session.

Many people don’t know what they might do with more bravery.

But they KNOW what they would do with more confidence.

What we know is that bravery is a lever to confidence.

And, we are trying to get to as many people who want more of it as we can.

Thank you to and and Henry for Activating this big group and to Michele Dombrowski for helping to bring Brave Enterprises to Sewanee, Tennessee.

Bravery in the round.

We put chairs in a circle in the Brave Session in order to
💥 create a big hug around the work, and
💥 insulate the experience of stepping outside your
comfort zone with repetition, and
💥 associate AGENCY and CURIOSITY and OPPORTUNITY with “FEAR” instead of things like overwhelm, stress, failure.

Thank you female athletes and AD bringing us to MD!

Brave day in the city.

23 6th graders on the team from Maryland came to MYC for a day.

How much can change in a day?

Since you learn a ton from doing things you’ve never done before, a whole bunch of kids learned a whole bunch of new stuff.

They rode the Amtrak, the subway, the ferry, and they visited to 9/11 Memorial, walked the Brooklyn Bridge, got Pretzels from food trucks and pizza from . They walked up and down Broadway, saw the stock exchange and learn to box with the best

20k steps and 200 smiles later, the girls got back on a train.

5 hours is more than enough time to brave.

“Everything is team for me.”

As the incredible announces her retirement from the programs, we wanted to thank her for her commitment to the game and to the girls who play it.

Taylor, we are so grateful. And we wish for you so much joy.

“We’re friends.”

What’s sports teaches us, provides us, shows us is immeasurable.

- former college player and college coach and current AD talks about what lacrosse has given her, above all things.

Passion.
Relationships.

Ahhhh, sports.

What has lax/sports given you?
