PRPS Prps is a luxury denim brand that was created in 2003 by Founder and Creative Director, Donwan Harrell. The wait was worth it.

Throughout Japan there are a few select, family-run denim manufacturers, in small towns who possess a deep understanding of craft and expertise to rival the tailors on Seville row. Donwan Harrell carefully selected a group of these craftsmen and immersed himself in Japanese culture to gain their respect. After two years of introductory conversations, initial meetings and formal tea ceremonies, the

y were on board. The small, insular community of artisans lends their expertise to the creation of our garments, producing one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Prps is the only American brand for which they create, which makes our offering truly second to none. Our cotton is harvested in Africa, then shipped to Japan and woven into denim cloth. The denim is woven on vintage shuttle looms from the 1950’s that are unlike the mass projectile looms commonly used around the world today. The cloth is woven in small batches with our signature purple selvedge. This process is much slower and deliberate and although it produces less material and more waste, the end result is denim that is superior in durability, texture and touch.
