I’m so glad I did!!!

I have so much to say on how valuable it was for me to step out of my comfort zone go on the trip that I kept questioning myself over and over about. More on that later.

But spending 4 nights and 4 days with sister/soul sisters and friends in a glorious private room to myself overlooking a sexy pool with my own private balcony, just steps from the beach with kosher food, is now something that is mandatory in my life every couple of months.

I walked in the door after just a couple days away and I told my husband I love you and I’m gonna keep doing this - to which he responded! I support!!

I bless each and every one of you with supportive partners, families, businesses and good friends to travel with!

we will be back and with more!

Looking back to this time last year, I’m still in awe of the joy & resilience that filled our lives.

October 11th, 2023 - just 4 days after Simchat Torah - we celebrated our son Rafi’s Bar Mitzvah. Amidst communal shock & devastation, we chose to delight & amplify our rejoicing in this simcha.

That unforgettable night, we all celebrated with unparalleled joy & presence. No speech’s prepared, just raw emotion. Dancing with love, pain, holding each other and so much joy!

(I keep saying it but that’s really what it was. To this day I feel it & it’s still mind blowing to me!)

Thank you, Hashem, for the gift of finding joy amidst adversity. For the gifts of family, of our children, our lives, of the beautiful mitzvot we can celebrate all the time!

Grateful to you all who joined us, and to you all who supported us from afar, holding space for love, uncertainty, sadness and dancing like it was your very own BM!

To the incredible vendors who brought this night to life:

- The Bar Mitzvah design, florals, food, bar, artistry, for 20 years of friendship, for your love, dedication & for knowing exactly how to execute my vision and manage every step of the event like the boss artists that you are. 💐🥗🍷

- For creating my custom made couture gown. A real team combination of excellence in design and creation to bring my dream to life, I felt exactly how I hoped to on the night! 👗

- For creating my custom made wig & to match my crazy hair to perfection, for your unparalleled craftsmanship helping me feel & look so alive and aligned. 💇🏽‍♀️
c - these stunning photos, you nailed it and captured the vibrancy and energy that filled the room. 📸
music - the music told the story of exactly the journey we were on. It was LIT 🔥 🎧

- your custom-made Kippahs that are now BM tradition! For your love my entire life ❤️🤍

- The custom made hoodies swagging!! You were a blessing to work with 🙏

In honor of International Women’s Day, this coming Friday, March 8th, I would like to remind the world that there are still 19 innocent women being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas. Today and everyday, we cannot be silent and let this continue. These women and all 134 hostages deserve to come home now!

Please help by contacting your elected officials wherever you live. If you are in the US, go to www.oneminaday.com and everywhere else, go to www.lifeshiftr.com to demand the immediate release of our hostages. You can also share this post with others and/or make your own (simply by holding up the same sign) to help spread the word. Tag 3 different people to spread the message.

I’m the positive one. The one that finds the bright side, or at least tries to look for it, the one that believes in the happy ending- always. I thought I’d come home from Israel feeling stronger, more determined, more hopeful. What I imagined this trip would give me. What I wanted it to, so I could share exactly that: hope, determination and strength.
I kept finding myself being none of these.

I knew pain would be part of the package, I anticipated it to be hard, but I thought I’d have smiling Simi to rescue me- she usually does.
She didn’t today. She didn’t yesterday. My body weighed down by so.much.grief.
I kept wanting to find her. To give her to my grief. To tell her that all will be ok. To clear out even a tiny bit of the density inside. Absolutely zero luck.
A friend said to me: it is a heavy time. A heavy time.

Heavy grief. Heavy sacrifice. Heavy tears.

I shared my unsmiling Simi with a woman I met on today’s bus. We were standing at the Nova sight.
She listened and told me to turn around.
“Look at that field”, as she pointed to the rows of trees, planted a few days ago by their families on Tu B’Shvat directly across from the Nova grounds. Each new sapling labeled with a human name.
Signs of life. The choice to rebuild IN the heaviness. The same earth where they fell, is already given some life by their parents once again. IN their heaviness.

I don’t need to get rid of the heaviness. It’s a heavy time. I can though, remember the seeds.

We are building. We are living. We will dance again. Smiling Simi knows that. 1/28/23
