Care is treated like atmosphere: everywhere, essential, and rarely credited, yet it’s what everything rests on. What looks like ornament is labor brought to the surface.
Women spend on average 2.8 more hours each day than men on unpaid domestic labor. If paid at minimum wage, this work would be worth at least $10.8 trillion a year. Much of this work is physical and some lives in the mind: anticipating, deciding, planning, monitoring.
Stitch by stitch, bead by bead, devotion keeps its rhythm. A world shaped by what’s been crafted, held, and maintained for us by hands we rarely name. #2026
