In the most recent Thinking Circle session, a Paulo Coelho quote surfaced and we went quiet for a moment.

It is not a surprising quote. What landed differently was the word conspires. Like the universe is working alongside you, but only if you are already in motion toward something.

We had been talking about the luck we make without calling it luck, the micro-decisions that compound into a life, and the surface area we create by showing up consistently even when we cannot see what it is building toward.

This came up in The Thinking Circle last night.

We were talking about Narrative Capital, the luck we make without calling it luck, the micro-decisions that compound into something real without us noticing. And somewhere in the middle of that conversation this quote surfaced and the room went quiet for a second.
I think what landed is the word conspires. Not delivers. Not guarantees. Conspires. Like the universe is working alongside you, but you have to be moving first. You have to want something clearly enough to be in motion toward it.

That is what the session was about. And it is what this whole summer of conversations has been building toward.

Nephrite Jade has been forming for longer than most things on earth that we call permanent.

This particular shade, seafoam, almost, is what jade looks like before it gets polished into something more expected. Still itself. Not trying to be emerald.

The Verdant Within is a new collection. Two pieces. One is all jade. The other pairs it with Rainbow Moonstone, which shifts color depending on where you are standing and how the light is moving.

Growth can be selective. Not everything needs to be rebuilt. Some things return when given room.

Last Friday afternoon in Brooklyn.

What started as getting out of the apartment to work became something else entirely.

A rooftop in DUMBO. Old friends and a new one. A conversation that wandered through women, power, the patriarchy, work, creativity, and the lives we are still building.

No agenda. No networking event. No reason for any of it to become something.

Just four women talking under an enormous Brooklyn sky.

So much of becoming who we are happens this way. Not through some grand reinvention, but through the places we put ourselves, the people we make room for, and the conversations that remind us there is still so much ahead.

I was also reminded to celebrate the wins. It was a very good week.

There is a lot of language right now about owning your story. All of it assumes you can see the arc.

Most of us are in the middle of something that has not resolved yet. The chapter does not have a name. The new shape of things is not clear. The decision was made but living inside the decision turns out to be its own separate project.

That is Becoming. And it is the part nobody talks about.
Not the breakthrough. Not the collapse. The months between those things, when your life no longer looks like it used to and does not yet resemble what comes next.

Objects. Stories. Meaning.

I did not build AVILA after I figured things out. I built it while I was still in the middle of figuring them out. The jewelry came first because I needed something to make with my hands while the rest of it was still assembling. The writing followed because I could not stop trying to understand what I was living through. The circle came because it turned out other women were living through the same thing and needed a room to say so.
None of it was planned in that order. That is just the order it arrived.

The brand was built inside the exact season it speaks to. That is either the most honest thing about it or the most useful thing about it. Probably both.
