.world_ is an artist and designer originally from Chicago, Illinois, currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Mohammed founded KHIRY, an Afrofuturist luxury brand in 2016 while studying political science as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania.
KHIRY’s demi-fine jewelry has been carried by Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Net a Porter, and McMullen, and has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Cut, Teen Vogue, W, Essence, and T Magazine. Mohammed’s work has been worn by an influential range of global figures including Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle, Serena Williams, Ava DuVernay, Solange Knowles, and SZA.
His design work has extended into costume and has collaborated with Academy Award-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter where his work was featured in Coming 2 America. His work has been recognized with inclusion on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Art & Style category, finalist recognition for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, the Harlem’s Fashion Row Icon 360 Award, and the Fashion Scholarship Fund Accelerator Grant and serves as a design fellow at Tiffany and Co. after winning the 2025 Tiffany x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award.
