On today’s episode of Patrick Is Always Doing Something…

Cue the strut.

The super well-dressed Native New Yorker—style savant, fabric whisperer, fashion’s favorite overachiever—glides downtown en route to the Turkish Apparel Show, where Istanbul’s finest have flown across oceans armed with swatches, ambition, and impeccable stitching.

Vendors. Suppliers. Manufacturers. Oh my.
Each booth a love language in cotton, cashmere, tailoring, hosiery, and knits so divine they practically introduced themselves.

Though many are scaled for empires and I am but a growing kingdom, one never loses by shaking a hand, exchanging stories, and discussing margins over espresso. Relationships are the true luxury good. In fashion? They are everything.

Major applause to the ever-gracious Daniel Kara for curating such a chic affair. Intimate, organized, deliciously executed—yes, including the buffet (research is research).

Left inspired, well-fed, and plotting new details I absolutely will pretend were effortless.

If you haven’t attended, consider this your velvet-roped invitation.

Until the next fabulous installment… ✨

NYFW has officially begun, and my February opened in celebration — marking the 16th anniversary of .

Congratulations, Michael, on an extraordinary legacy and an impeccable roster. Thank you for such a beautiful evening — refined, warm, and filled with inspiring company. I left grateful for the conversations and the new connections made.

I took Vincenzo out for the evening — a quiet statement, perfectly suited for a night that deserved intention and polish.

The past two weeks have been wonderfully full, with meaningful momentum and exciting news on the horizon. Stay tuned.

Paris Market Week remains a possibility, but Istanbul in early March is looking certain — and I couldn’t be more pleased.

How are you beginning your February — and your Fashion Week?

Up and out in the Garment District—where all the magic happens.
#✨ I stopped by for a development meeting to discuss a production run of The Walking Dress. I’ve selected the four summer colorways and will now move into developing the artwork for the printed stripe version.

A designer’s day is never done—but it’s always fun.

We reviewed fabric qualities and color cards, which is a painstaking process for me given how precisely I see color and how sensitive I am to the hand of a textile. It ultimately came down to three fabric options, all within 5 grams of each other in weight, yet each with a slightly different weave structure—details that make all the difference when defining quality.

In the end, I made my selection and will now wait on a reasonable quote before moving into the next phase. I’m still not 100% sold on the fourth color, so I’m turning to you—what color would you love to see in The Walking Dress? Drop your ideas in the comments below 👇

Stopped by today to source full-grain hides for the Vincenzo Bag—my first visit, thanks to a recommendation from one of my students after we ran into each other at .

A reminder that you never stop learning and that inspiration can come from anywhere. Loved seeing an FIT class touring the space—there’s nothing better than experiencing the NYC Garment District in person. I found some beautiful materials, including a few unexpected gems.

Huge thanks to the team at District Leathers for their outstanding service and professionalism. Highly recommend them for leather sourcing.

Last stop Bergies

Another full day out in the field—sourcing for development and taking the pulse of the market. Exploring ideas across construction, innovation, and materials.

Along the way, I ran into a former student from the one-year program. A reminder of how small the world is—and how the impact we have on people’s lives creates relationships that truly makes a difference.

What we put out into the world matters. It should be intentional, thoughtful, and rooted in integrity.

Research is a core pillar I teach as the foundation of good design. Understanding not just the product, but the world it’s created for informs everything—from materials and pricing to perception and purpose.

Do the things you buy reflect intention and integrity—or are you just consuming without awareness? I’d like to know your perspective!
