New York Fashion Week is just around the corner, and the industry is buzzing with final preparations for the upcoming presentations. I know walking a NYFW runway is a dream for so many models, especially young women.

Lately, I’ve been receiving a lot of model inquiries and application emails, even though I only do one presentation a year, which already took place in February. I totally understand how much this opportunity means to a young generation full of energy, drive, and passion, so I wanted to share some insights from my own experience and POV as a NYC based independent designer/brand.

Over the weekend, we immersed ourselves in art, engaging with incredibly talented artists and creative communities. Not only they are so amazing at what they do, but they are also good, decent human beings who care about others and share our values. Hearing their stories and experiencing their art felt deeply relatable and aligned with who we are. Working in fashion and in NYC can honestly be exhausting and energy-draining in this era of social media and AI.
