A road trip. That beautiful American mythology. Almost as American as the Super Bowl. With Spencer Wells and Sarah Coggins we spent a few days getting lost along the rugged California coast, through its small hippy towns and grand national parks, country music fading in and out along the frequencies of the radio.
At a breakfast spot in Marin, where Spencer and Sarah live, we plotted out a path through Northern California, over pancakes and coffee, poring over maps, tracing a route from diners to dive bars.
