Lee Jean Youn was awarded the Grand Prix of the 2nd Edition of El Boton-MANGO Fashion Awards in 2009. He collaborated with MANGO and designed its limited edition, LEE JEAN YOUN for MANGO which was sold at MANGO stores worldwide. This event was attended by all the candidates, accompanied by members of the Jury: Oscar de la Renta, as Chairman, the multi-talented Nina Garcia, Director of Marie Claire
US magazine, Laura Larbalestier, from the Purchasing Department of Selfridges, Armand Hadida, manager of the prestigious Parisian boutique L’Éclaireur, the Director and cool hunter of Rinascente, Tiziana Cardini, the acclaimed fashion consultant, Jean Jacques Picart, Verónica Blume, one of Spain’s most internationally famous models, Jerry Hall, the famous model of the 80s, the winners of the first edition of competition, Sandrina Fasoli & Michaël Marson, the photographer of the moment, Mariano Vivanco, and, of course, Isak Andic, the Chairman of MANGO, and Damián Sánchez, Managing Partner and Creative Director of the firm. Since his recognition at MANGO awards, he has done various runway shows around the world; namely Haute Couture collection in Paris in January 2010, at 080 Barcelona Fashion Show in Spain in July 2010, Concept Korea NYFW in September 2010. He was also invited to be one of the judges for the 3rd El Boton-MANGO Fashion Awards along with Chairman Judge, Jean Paul Gaultier and other fashion insiders. Lee Jean Youn currently resides in New York City and plans to start up his ready-to-wear brand that includes high-end accessories like handbags, shoes and hats which will be launching after the F/W 14 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in February 2014.
