There's a moment I've seen hundreds of times in my 20 years of teaching.

Your CLO3D garment looks too big . . . and it might not be a fit issue. 👀

Most patterns, whether you made them in Illustrator, bought them online, or scanned a home sewing pattern, already have seam allowance built in. But CLO3D, patterns don't include seam allowance. So when you import them (and don't remove them), the garment comes out larger than it should on the avatar.

I actually made this mistake in a previous video and only realized it when someone asked about it in the comments.

So naturally, I made a whole video about how to fix it. 😅 And shoutout to .studio for schooling me on this very useful trick!

The teacher became the student again when I had the opportunity to take .studio CLO Pattern Pro course.

Even as an advanced user, there were so many gems I was able to take away to improve my own workflow.

If you’re a home sewer or you’re making your own patterns, CLO is a great tool for both and CLO Pattern Pro is a great course to get you started.

It's probably not the software. (Don't worry! It's not you either;)

After 20 years of teaching digital fashion design, I've seen the same pattern over and over, and it's almost never about the tool. Or your capability to use it.
