On August 31, 1989, Bobby Weir had a photoshoot with Jay Blakesberg Photography for BICYCLING magazine at Mount Tam in Mill Valley.
“The magazine had been trying to set the story up for a few months and I ran in to Weir the week before at the original sweetwater at John Lee Hookers Birthday show on 8.22.89. Asked Bob when he could do the shoot and we set it for the next week and there we were getting weird in the woods with Bob on a bike! 🚲🚲💥” - Jay Blakesberg Photography

Now, we must bow our heads and remember that 49 years ago today the Dead performed a legendary show at the Old Renaissance Faire Grounds in Veneta, Oregon. The performance was released on the live album SUNSHINE DAYDREAM and as a film in 2013. The name, Sunshine Daydream, was taken from the coda section of “Sugar Magnolia.”
