The 40ish Runner 🏃🏻♂️
A few months ago, I honestly thought my running days were behind me.
An aging body, weakening knees, gout, injuries, and life itself made me believe that maybe running was something I had already outgrown. When I signed up for the Brooklyn Half Marathon, part of me wondered if I would even make it to the finish line — especially after dealing with a knee concern earlier this year.
But somewhere between the early morning runs, the long training days, the setbacks, and the small victories, I realized something:
We are capable of more than we think.
With discipline, consistency, patience, and perseverance… here we are:
A Brooklyn Half Marathon finisher. 🏅
Huge thanks to for building such an incredible training program, community, and support system. Every cheer, every workout, and every conversation along the way helped carry me to that finish line.
And as they say — this is just the beginning.
Next stop:
🏳️🌈 Pride Run in June for a little speed test
🗽 Then straight into training for the New York Marathon 2026
To everyone who thinks it’s “too late” to start again:
Maybe your story is just getting started too.
See you on the road.
