*Romantic Details* 🌹💐🥀 So many gorgeous little details!

This lovely 1920’s dress is made of a lightweight, plain weave silk fabric, featuring a stylistic 20’s pink rose print, on a green leaf and cream ground. A very dainty example, this piece has a drop waist silhouette with puff sleeves and rounded neckline. The gathers at neckline, cuffs, and waist are all hand-sewn smocking, in silk threads of pink, blue, and green, creating sumptuous gathers. The neckline and cuffs also feature self-fabric piping finish, as well as ecru-colored netting ruffles...AND, the most glorious little lightweight ball-tassels made from (wooden?) balls enshrouded in the silk threads. This is masterful detailing via smocking and sewing (plus, I found a lot of hand-sewn seams inside the dress, as well). Originally I thought that this dress per chance might have a connection to Wiener Werkstatte, but as of yet I have not found any evidence to indicate so. I am presuming it may be of Austrian origin because of the traditional smocking. No labels or maker’s marks present. Overall condition is very good, with mild to moderate underarm staining (pics show front, back, and under angles), plus one tiny repair at right underarm -please review photographs for full details. $295 in my eBay shop 🛍️

Measurements:

- 17.5 inches across from shoulder to shoulder
- 10.5 inch sleeve length
- 14 inch arm hole (at seam)
- 9 inch arm cuff opening
- up to 38 inch chest
- up to 36 inch waist
- 39.5 inch total length from shoulder to hem

*A journey of gums* 😁👄🦷 after about two years, two teaching hospitals, over a dozen visits, four surgeries, thousands of dollars, etc. my gums have never been healthier, and hopefully will continue to do so! Today is a full circle moment. (GD it was hot 🥵 and I did get stuck in an elevator for ten minutes 🙄) I celebrated with some light thrifting, and banh mi with shrimp papaya salad and Vietnamese iced tea. Shout out to

*Maurice!* 👗🦋🐬Here’s your chance to own a well-loved Maurice designer print jersey knit dress...

This collectible Maurice designer dress has been well-worn and well-loved. It is made of a lightweight polyester or synthetic jersey style fine knit (super soft actually, I had to do a fiber burn test because I thought it might be silk!). The fabric has a nice stretch to it, and features an arabesque, swirling border style print in black-lined white, with turquoise blue ground color. The silhouette has a light fit-and-flare, with its take on the classic shirt dress style. I love the border trim detail at the v-neckline, waist and cuffs. The ‘Maurice’ signature may be seen multiple times throughout the print. No lining, no pockets. Overall condition is fair to good, with some major signs of wear, including; uneven coloring/color loss throughout, repaired snags at sleeves -especially at upper right arm and both cuff areas, and original buttons were missing and have been replaced with other 1960’s gold metal buttons. The original hem length has also been altered, and taken up at some point, with the extra fabric removed, so this alteration is permanent. Label simply reads ‘Maurice’. Please refer to photographs for full details.

Measurements:

- 15.5 inches across from shoulder to shoulder
- 13 inch upper arm circumference un-stretched
- 25 inch sleeve length
- up to 36 inch chest
- up to 28 inch waist
- 34 inch hips un-stretched
- 35.5 inch total length from shoulder to hem

*Museum (Memorial Day!) Monday* 🎨🪡👨‍🎨 today’s is chock full of personal faves! From a long-overdue credit given to Henriette Negrin, Mariano Fortuny’s wife, muse, and partner in creation, specifically of the Delphos pleated gown (which is iconically linked to the Fortuny name -this may have been the first time I’ve seen true credit given on the placard at a museum!)… to a Weiner Werkstadtte inspired print, on a gown by for Akris. Delicious 🤤

*Makeover Time!* watch as I take this silk sleep shirt from *📦 package* ➡️ *🧼 clean* ➡️ *✨tumeric-dyed* ➡️ *💛 worn again* This incredible piece, from A. Sulka, has the address and f the store on the label, which clearly dates it from 1909-1919. It would have originally been purchased by someone, who most likely added the embroidery to the neckline and collar, along with the monogrammed breast pocket. I knew I needed to save this one
