It was truly an honor to meet New York State Governor Kathy Hochul at the 10th Annual WHY NOT CARE Backpack Giveaway in the Lower East Side! 🎒🗽

I had the opportunity to speak with Governor Hochul for a few minutes about the new economic development and workforce training program we are working to create through Gotham City Apparel right here in our community.

I shared with her our vision of creating jobs, job training, and career opportunities for our local teenagers and veterans, while teaching valuable skills in printing, apparel production, design, entrepreneurship, and business.

Governor Hochul was very receptive to the idea, and I’m hopeful that we can secure government support and funding to help turn this vision into reality.

Our goal is bigger than just building a successful printing and apparel company—we want to create opportunities, keep jobs in our community, and invest in the next generation.

Thank you, Governor Hochul, for taking the time to listen to our vision. We’re excited about what the future can bring for Gotham City Apparel and the Lower East Side! 💪🏽🗽❤️

Building Opportunities. Strengthening Our Community.

We are proud to announce a new partnership between Gotham City Apparel and Thrive NYC to launch an economic development program that will provide job opportunities, hands-on training, and career pathways for teenagers in the Lower East Side.

This fall, we’ll be in full swing, giving young people the chance to learn valuable skills in apparel production, entrepreneurship, design, printing, embroidery, and business operations—all while supporting our local economy.

Our mission is simple: create jobs, empower our youth, and help our neighborhood’s businesses grow together.

With over 30 years of experience in the apparel industry and community development, I’m honored to bring this opportunity home to the Lower East Side and invest in the next generation of leaders.

A heartfelt thank you to Thrive NYC for believing in our vision and partnering with us to make a lasting impact in our community. Together, we’re creating opportunities that will strengthen families, support local businesses, and build a brighter future.

The future starts here.

🙏⚾ THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR YOUTH! 🇩🇴❤️

I want to give a very special thank you to my childhood friend Juan Ramirez and John Jay College for their generous donation to the LES Sports Academy Nike RBI Annual Equipment Collection.

For the past six years, we have collected new and gently used baseball equipment for our annual MLK Equipment Giveaway in the Dominican Republic. This upcoming trip will mark our 7th year, and what started as a small effort has grown into a mission that now impacts more than 1,000 kids each year! 🙏⚾🇩🇴

Juan, I greatly appreciate you, my brother, for always stepping up and helping me with this mission. Your continued support means so much to me and, most importantly, to the children we serve. God bless you, hermano! ❤️🙏

A BIG shoutout also goes to Officer Martinez from NYPD PSA 4 for helping us collect the equipment today. Thank you for always being there for our community and our kids. You guys are truly one of the best Community Affairs teams around! 💙👮‍♂️

It takes a community working together to make a difference. Healthy, Safe & Smart through Sports and Education! 💪⚾❤️
