Lan Yu, a Chinese-born designer who integrated Chinese traditional embroidery elements to western fashion designs, now is poised for a grand entrance onto the American fashion landscape. Drawing from her ballerina background (she began dancing at age five) Lan Yu’s design aesthetic is youthful and innovative, while maintaining a deep respect for her cultural heritage.
