AMIR'S STORY - Introducing AmirWear! AmirWear was originally established exclusively for Amir Williams an energetic and adorable 11 year old with an infectious smile. Diagnosed with ASD* Amir suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI**) at the age of two Amir spent almost 2 weeks in a coma suffering from encephalitis. *** When Amir finally woke up from his coma it was painfully obvious although born

a healthy child who reached all his milestones early, Amir will forever be different. Paralyze completely on his left side Amir was faced with the harsh reality of never walking again. Despite not giving much of a chance of fully recovering Amir miraculously was able to learn how to walk and talk again. His journey wasn’t easy, to date he still suffers from seizure like episodes, however because of his inner resolve Amir was able to prevail. Based on the essence of his warrior spirit AmirWear was established to symbolize the inner warrior in all us. ​ ​ AMIR'S STORY NEVER GIVE UP! *Autism Spectrum Disorders, or ASD, are also called pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) because they involve delay in many areas of development. PDD or ASD is a category that includes five different disorders of development, each with differing severities and patterns: Autistic Disorder. **Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an insult to the brain, not of a degenerative or congenital nature, but caused by external physical force that may produce a diminished or altered state of consciousness, which results in an impairment of cognitive abilities or physical functioning. ***Encephalitis is an acute inflammation (swelling) of the brain usually resulting from either a viral infection or due to the body's own immune system mistakenly attacking brain tissue.
