Entrechat Dance creates shoe bags, dancewear and accessories from laces, embroideries, and other beautiful fabrics. The skirts, shoe bags and scrunchies are sewn by me, in my Manhattan, New York City home studio. Printed items (tees, totes, joggers) are designed by me and then printed to order by a printing company and shipped directly to you from the printer. An entrechat (ahn-truh-SHAH) is a bal

let jump where the dancer crosses and beats their legs multiple times. The term “entrechat” comes from the Italian intrecciata, which means “interlaced” or “interwoven,” like the the leavers laces I love working with. In French, the word sounds like “Between Cat.” This pun was the inspiration for our kitty logo, created by Sean King Design. My Story

I'm an FIT graduate, with many years experience designing apparel. From my first ballet class as a toddler, to the adult classes I take and ballets I attend, dance has always been a part of my life. I launched Entrechat Dance to combine my lifelong passion for ballet with my love of creating beautiful things. None of my designs for Entrechat Dance contain any animal products: no feathers, leather, silk, fur, or wool. In addition, I source my materials locally and domestically (and utilize deadstock, end cuts and apparel industry excess fabrics) whenever possible, to reduce environmental impact. Creating items to order also reduces waste.

There may still be a lot of snow on the ground, but we are ready for the return of our Summer Teen Dance Intensive! 🌞🌞🌞

A summer tradition for many years, our teen dance intensive will return this August as a non-residential workshop for local students ages 13-18.

This year's faculty are experienced educators and professional dancers from Boston and NYC. Alongside strong technical training, students will explore original repertory, choreography, and improvisation, developing their own creative voice. The week concludes with an informal performance for family and friends on Windhover’s outdoor stage.

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and Happy kwanzaa! However you celebrate we hope it was filled with gifts of love and joy.

There are 5 days till 2024 and there is still time to Give The Gift of Dance to our Year End Campaign. We are $3500 away from reaching our goal of $10K. Every dollar helps us bring dance to communities near and far.

With a projected yearly budget of just over $115,000.00 grant support is not enough. We are so lucky 🍀 to have generous individual supporters who support the work that we do. Thank you to all the people who have contributed so far.

So far the Company has received grant support from NYSCA for 25,000 and another $3,000 in grant support as well for use in 2024. We will be working on many more grants.

We also will be continuing to work hard on earning money for the organization in other ways. Such as teaching, selling merchandise, and other fun ways. Company T-shirts are on sale so please email [email protected] to inquire. We have different colors and sizes!
