The Spring Summer 2022 collection Stop, Breathe, Repeat came from a desire to be more grateful and hopeful about the world around us. Seemingly everything continues to change and evolve and provide challenges and it can feel overwhelming. Thinking about what we need as humans to be happy, Anthony Galante explored the lightness and airiness of life. He recently welcomed a new daughter into his and his husband's lives, and felt reflective about simple joys and new chapters.

The conflicting feelings of morning optimism and daily life stressors helped drive this collection's mood. Starting with the gentle warmth from Spring sunlight that quickly elevates our day, Anthony focused on crisp sculptural volume and sheer and airy layering. The collection combines shirting staples for every day dressing, and classics with a twist. A long overcoat in bright white organic cotton twill is touched with mint organza peony embellishment, while shirting in mint and black polka dot satin is oversized with a shocking pop of bubble gum pink.

Committed to finding ways to be more sustainable and size and gender inclusive, the collection is made entirely of overstock fabrics, resulting in exclusive one-of-a-kind looks that can only be produced until its fabric is depleted. It's this type of made-to-order model that keeps ATG grounded in limiting what is produced, and for whom.

Fashion Revolution Week is here, as the world remembers the Rana Plaza tragedy. 8 years ago more than a thousand workers lost their lives in a preventable accident. The accident shook the world, and put a spotlight on the unsafe conditions faced by workers in global garment supply chains. The fashion industry promised to do better, and committed to transforming supply chains to respect human rights and reduce environmental impacts. A number of significant improvement steps have been taken to make factories safer, and supply chains more transparent, but there is still much to be done.

The apparel industry still thrives on labor abuses. The result is the clothing we all wear, so we are all involved. We still need a fashion revolution. One thing we can all do is to ask the brands we buy from, who made my clothes? Also follow and as they highlight transparent brands you can help support, and the garment industry workers that are often left unseen 📷

Last year, I made a conscious decision to work towards dressing a more inclusive group of creatives, one full of Black, brown, indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ voices, the voices I know and respect already and the ones I need to make an effort to learn about...and one that is inclusive to all sizes.

One of those voices is Nicole Byer. I love her on Nailed It, I love her stand-up, and everything she touches is gold. I partnered with her stylist on some custom ATG looks for TBS's revival of Wipeout, and this was one of her custom suits we were moving forward with.

Unfortunately, as if living through a pandemic wasn't enough of a bummer, this and one of the other suits my team made for her, were stolen, right after this fitting, and before we could work on her alterations. We were all so sad about the situation, but as was the motto last year, some things are just out of your control.

All this to say, it was a challenging environment for independent designers before, and that remains true today. We're always looking for and securing resources, so that we can support our dream of working with creatives we admire, and obstacles like this will not stop us. I so appreciate your support of my label.
