Fam, last year we donated nearly 50% of our revenue to several nonprofit organizations such as the The Possibility Project] & CASA Academy]. I know that this is not a sustainable business model, but we live in a world where many can use a hand and felt fortunate to be able to lend one. Especially to non-profit orgs such as these.
Donate whatever you can, whenever you can, and feel able to do so. Even $1 means a lot. Did you know that you can cover enrollment for a young girl to attend either junior high school or high school with a $300 donation to de San Miguel de Allende? We donated there as well to help them do so.
Another one I’ll highlight is CASA Academy. With CASA Academy, I was blessed with an opportunity to be on their board a few years through 2015 as the founders started up the school. I remember knocking on doors and sitting in the living rooms of families telling them about the school & our plans even before we had a building confirmed. I wanted to help those families so badly as I remembered what it was like to grow up with parents who wanted the best for me and felt handicapped as they weren’t sure how to give it to me. With CASA Academy, the whole team is committed to doing just that – helping those parents and more importantly, helping to uproot seeds of doubt from those kids at a young age.
I can go on & on about these organizations (and I will throughout the year), but I quickly wanted to tell you all thank you for investing in Stolmid products because your trust spurred an overwhelming feeling of gratitude that I knew had to be paid forward meaningfully. Being a limited quantity release brand that is trying many new things, our revenue cycle is spread out thinly and somehow this was such an easy decision despite rising costs and the challenges popping up almost every day. I hope that you continue to think of direct ways to help out others in this world that we live in. To The Possibility Project] CASA Academy] and those that aren’t on social media such as the Phillips Renner Foundation– thank you for all that you do every single day. 🌊
