When we left California to Texas, it was in somewhat of a rush, a disappointment and a devastation to our lil family. What I have learned in the 2 years since our move is how much I love taking a space and making it beautiful while making it layered, storied and most importantly, making it personal. I don’t think I even would have poured myself into home design in the way I have if it were not for moving here to Texas and in this exact home that was waiting for love and creativity. Sometimes we are not pushed to find our passions until God helps with a nudge. I am so grateful for my new community, I love our neighbors immensely, I love my Texas girlfriends, I love the antiquing here, I love the opportunities here for peace and calmness, I love home and home design and I had not discovered that about myself to this degree in California. I now jump in the car and go to the marble yards 20 minutes down the road from me to create improvements in our home and in my client’s homes. Being hands on in creating lasting design brings such joy. If you are feeling stuck I encourage you to think about what you love creating and do that in small ways at first. And then remind yourself with before pictures so you can see how far you’ve come, that process is not easy but when you find something that truly speaks to you, it is pure gold.
