How do you summarize more than six decades of writing, organizing, building, questioning, marching, speaking, listening, challenging and changing the world? How do you adequately honor someone who helped shift not just the conversation around women’s lives, but the way women are able to move through the world?

You can’t, really. But we wanted to try. To remember the young journalist who kept pushing when women were told which stories they were allowed to tell. The activist who helped turn private experiences into political conversations. The organizer who helped build movements, institutions and platforms that still exist today. The woman who kept showing up, decade after decade, because she understood that progress is something we have to keep choosing.

There is something incredibly emotional about being able to say: we got to be alive at the same time as Gloria Steinem.

Thank you, Gloria. For the courage, the words, the work, the persistence, and for leaving the world different because you were here.

We’ll take it from here. ❤️
