Born in 1904 in the North Western Greek region of Florina, Elidia's Grandmother HRISULA, was taught the current stitch which Elidia currently uses for all her creations. At age 8, during the Balkan War period, Hrisula was forced to learn what is currently known as crocheting, in an effort to increase her fine motor skills, an aid in instruction following and discipline, as well as a family tradit

ion. This stitch was taught to Hrisula by her mother Katerina, originally creating every row of fabric with only her fingers and no tools. Years later, Hrisula continued to pass down this tradition to her daughter Ilinka (Elidia's mother), but with the use of the French Hook, currently known as the "Crochet", in order to more rapidly meet the requests of several people who fell in love with the designs, as well as the passersby at the local Bazaar where she would sell her pieces to the community. Three generations later, Elidia continues this traditional stitch to hand-craft modern day apparel and accessories, that are fashionable and represent individuality.
