Status update:

Out of the 12 projects I had on hand that were started before I broke my leg and gave birth, as of today 7 are completed with 5 left to go! Once I have completed the remaining designs I will be going through everyone who wished to cancel their reservation and get refunds out to those in the order in which I received the requests. I will also go through those who wished to keep their reservations and reach out to you with an update as to how many reservations I have remaining and where you are in that lineup.

Almost finished along with several other projects I began before I broke my leg and gave birth…..just typing that out and re-reading it I can’t help but laugh at how outlandish that sounds. Hello everyone!

I apologize for being out of touch and wanted to provide an update on social media and will send this out in an email….this is a generic but very transparent and honest update. I’ve been receiving emails asking for refunds for reservations and updates on items. Here’s what’s been going on for those who don’t know:

In September at 5 months pregnant I broke my leg, I fractured my tibia and shattered my fibula. Because of this I needed surgery and was immobile and none weight bearing for 3 months. With that, my studio was located on the second story of my home and I was not able to work, even if it was on the first floor the way I had to keep my leg positioned I would not have been able to sit and paint. My studio has since been moved to the first floor of our house and is almost done being set up.

I began physical therapy November 28, I figured with getting out of a wheelchair and being mobile assisted with my walker and cane that I’d be able to get my studio set back up in order to get the orders I have on hand completed before giving birth. Unfortunately I went into liver failure which I wasn’t aware can be a rare side effect of pregnancy. With that I was emergency induced 5 weeks early. My son is a beautiful and healthy baby which is all I could have hoped for.

As for me I thought I had more time to rehab my leg before having my son and finish client items on hand and mail items back that I hoped to complete along with items that sold that I had not been able to ship yet. Unfortunately that did not happen. I have recently returned to physical therapy but unfortunately my liver has not completely healed yet so I have had a lot on my plate.

I realize this has been an unpleasant experience for several of you because of the extreme delay, for that I truly am sorry and I realize the circumstances were out of my control but nevertheless for my clients I know it sucks and I am deeply sorry. I wish I could refund everyone but I’m not able to do that until I am back to work and have an income. My wonderful husband who has been my rock is the only income we have right now, without me having an active income I just do not have the means to provide refunds right now with funds I do not have.

My studio is almost completed in order for me to return to work so that I can finish the items I have on hand and get those returned to those awaiting them. I will ship out items sold as soon as possible and I will be listing items of my own within the next week or so to use those funds to start providing refunds.

Please know I have spent years building my reputation in this niche and I love what I do more than I can express and to watch it fall apart has been gut wrenching and depressing. I am doing the best I can so please hang in there. I will get back to the artist I once was and provide the work and service that was expected when working with me, it’s just going to take time.

Happy to announce my beautiful son Michael Francis has arrived safe and sound, the best early Christmas gift my husband and I could have asked for. His arrival was 5 weeks early so once I have gotten into a routine with him I will send out an email update to clients awaiting an order status update along with a refund update. My recent X-rays compared to my previous ones taken are looking much better but not quite ready for me to begin walking. I was cleared to begin physical therapy starting next week to start the process of working on mobility and stability and will have a follow up xray in 2 weeks.

I have sent out emails to those who have booked a reservation for 2024 prior to me breaking my leg due to having to cut back from work with being pregnant. I was not planning to be out of work altogether but life had other plans. I realize this has put a complete halt on completing orders and for that I apologize. If you wish to cancel your reservation and have your deposit refunded I completely understand, please check your spam folder or shoot me an email with your reservation # to [email protected]

Please understand I cannot refund anyone until I have returned to work, I currently do not have an income right now and with the addition of medical expenses on top of my regular bills piling up I do not have the means to refund anyone until I am able to get back to work. I apologize for the inconvenience of this and hope you understand.

Hey everyone, it’s been awhile since I have posted an update. The baby is doing great, pregnancy wise I feel good, as for pain in my leg I’m ok. I have not returned to work yet unfortunately. I am still unable to walk which has been extremely limiting especially the further along I progress in my pregnancy. I hope to be cleared to begin physical therapy within the next week or so allowing me to get back into a routine being able to paint. Thank you all for the well wishes and support.

Hello everyone,

As I shared last week I had a really bad fall breaking my leg in 2 places. As if having a broken leg wasn’t difficult enough, I am also 6 months pregnant. I will be having surgery this Thursday 9/12 and will be out of work completely for several weeks. My husband with working full time has been amazing with taking on caring for me in every way possible. Our families have been helping during the days while my husband is at work and I couldn’t be more thankful. My sister thoughtfully created a “Meal Train” fund to help try and cover meals being that I not able to cook or go grocery shopping right now. Please do not feel obligated to donate anything. Thank you all for the support and well wishes. I hope surgery goes well and alleviates the pain and I hope to be back to work as soon as I can.
