From paper to reality. Steve Raleigh (owner of the Raleigh company) had me build him a handrail for his house. It was definitely a bit tricky since it turns twice plus slopes at the same to. So many different angles but it went well today during install and he said he was very pleased. Owner did not want it painted because he wanted to paint it himself. The very top post was put into concrete and the other three were anchored into the brick and mortar. I’m very thankful another happy customer trusted me to make their project a reality. Had the opportunity to install some handrails for an elderly lady just south of Louisville today,her home was already beautiful but these handrails made it look even better and now she can safely exit the front and back of her home. Had a customer in Owensboro,KY that needed 3 gates fixed. 2 that wouldn’t shut due to being to close to the fence itself and one was 3/4” to short to latch into place. 1st gate I had to cut back the gate latch keeper 1/2”,2nd gate I had to extend the latch keeper 3/4” by cutting the original off and making a new one. 3rd gate I had to cut 1 1/2” off the entire gate and shorten it up and weld it back together. They didn’t want to spend a whole lot of money so I worked with what I had to save them every penny I could. All three gates are operational and the customer was very pleased. Had an early morning call today from an owner operator that needed her tarp handle fixed. You can get pulled over and fined for not having your load covered so she called me and I was over in Madisonville within the hour and had it fixed and ready to roll in an hour. I cut both ends flush since she said she don’t ever use the holes to adjust the handle and then beveled both ends and welded it up. I used my grinder to make it smooth and flush all the way around. She said she wanted some brace plates on the outside since she has to put her body weight on it at times so I added two brace plates to help even out the force applied to the repaired area. Had a customer call me to fix a broken weld on their mowers deck. The bracket was barely hanging on. They said someone had try to weld it for them previously and it broke again so I disconnected the deck from the mower,heated up the bracket with a torch and got it back in the correct position and welded it up. I put 3 passes on it to insure it won’t break on them again. I then leveled the deck for them as well to make sure they don’t hit nothing else because the front end of the deck was so much lower than the rear end. Had a trucker call me to do a repair on his aluminum dump trailer. If you’ve ever had to stick weld aluminum you know how annoying and ugly it can be and get. He brought a couple scrap pieces of aluminum to see if I could make it work,so I did my best to make it work and had him on his way to pick up his next load in just a few hours. Late night Sunday call from a trucker that his rear air tank broke away from its bracket and left a perfect hole the size of the bracket in the side of the holding tank. I didn’t get a before picture but I unbolted the tank,dropped the tank as low as I could to be able to weld all the way around and got his bracket welded back to the tank which also sealed up the bracket size hole. This one was tricky since it was in a hard to reach spot but was able to get it done and now it’s holding air again. I appreciate the business very much! Another semi couldn’t be unloaded until they got this crack fixed,they called me and I was on site within the hour. Drilled a hole at the end of the crack to prevent further cracking and then welded it up. It’s not my proudest nor prettiest welds but these crossmembers where 8” on center so I couldn’t fit my head with my welding hood on up there to really see what I was doing but I gave it my best with the circumstances I had and he was able to be unloaded. I appreciate the business very much and was honored once more a company trusted me to take care of their problem.
