Today we remember Jason Collins — not only as a trailblazer in sports, but as someone who genuinely loved the tennis community and the people around it.

We were fortunate to spend time with Jason at Desert Smash, sharing laughs on court, playing tennis together, and even co-umpiring a celebrity/pro exhibition match. What stood out most was his warmth, positivity, and larger-than-life presence that made everyone around him feel welcome.

Jason brought joy, competitiveness, and authenticity wherever he went — from the NBA to the Southern California tennis courts he grew to love.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the many communities he impacted.

You will be deeply missed, Jason. ❤️🎾
