Run Mama Run was founded in 2016 with a vision of reaching the broad group of women across the globe who balance motherhood and a love of running. Many people hesitate to label themselves as a "runner" because they constantly compare themselves to other runners. Founder Kristen Long took years to officially label herself as a runner. She started running in 2010 at the encouragement and coaching of

a friend and still remembers the side stitches and struggle it was as a beginning runner to complete just a few short miles and eventually her first 5k race. Over time her love for running grew and she added longer distances. With her entry into motherhood, she added the challenge of running with a stroller. Now Kristen has completed numerous half marathons and several full marathons, in addition to races of all distances in between. After racing in so many different events, she eventually learned that there is always someone who's run longer, faster, covered more distance, has better form, and is more experienced than you. Regardless of all that, YOU are still a runner whether you're running 1 mile or 26.2 and beyond. So instead of constantly comparing yourself to others, remember that while we all have different journeys, we all cross the same finish line.

RMR sponsored the awesome "Sole Sisters" team made up of 4 elementary school girls as they ran the One City Marathon relay today with their amazing teacher Tara Lord running the full alongside them!
