For more than four decades, Michael Hayes Newport has been part of the fabric of Bellevue Avenue.
Since 1983, the Michael Hayes store has stood as one of Newport’s premier destinations for men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. Founded by Michael Hayes with the belief that great clothing meant nothing without trust, relationships, and service, the store quickly became a place customers returned to year after year.
“My father opened Michael Hayes when he was just 34,” says his son, Max Hayes. “He didn’t just build a store — he built a place people returned to year after year.”
More than four decades later, that philosophy continues under the leadership of Max Hayes and his wife, Hailey Hayes, who returned from New York to carry forward the family legacy while bringing fresh perspective to the store.
“Our store is designed for multiple generations to shop side by side,” says Hailey. “We blend classic staples with of-the-moment trends so everyone can find something that feels uniquely their own.”
At its core, Michael Hayes remains what it has always been: a place wear style, service, and relationships intersect.
