Vulnerable and long post ahead ❤️
Hello everyone! It's been a bit, but we've been very busy the last few weeks. Since mid-December my family has been battling various illnesses. Most recently, our entire family has been ill with Flu A. Let me tell you, it's absolutely no joke. Both of my girls contracted bacterial pneumonia from Flu A. Following this, my youngest became quite sick, leading to us spending Saturday at Children's Hospital. I am so grateful and thankful for the medical staff there and at Newport Pediatrics as well. All is well now and both girls have fully recovered.
I'm sure any parent knows that your children will always be a top priority, especially when they are as sick as mine were. I am a stay at home mom, so my number one job is always taking care of my family. The Green Shed is my passion project and side hustle. It gives me joy making things and spreading my joy to others. I have had to pause operations, but I am slowly beginning to get things going again.
I have also been assisting with fundraising for CCHS Big Red Fire Choir, and have some orders left to fulfill on that front before I can resume with normal operations.
Next week I anticipate being able to continue on, but not as normal. Over the last couple of months I have been developing new plans for this year.
This all started with discounted T-shirts, iron-on designs, and a regular home iron 😅 with the love and encouragement from my family I have since grown into sublimation prints, high quality tshirts, a commercial press, tumblers, mugs, and so much more. Expanding as well into breads and soaps. My customer base has expanded from close family and friends (for which I am extremely grateful) to people I have never seen or met before messaging me to purchase and also selling at craft shows.
This year I plan to scale back on t-shirt sales. They are still available to purchase and I would love to take custom orders for whatever you desire, but I will not be advertising as heavily.
I will be expanding my stock and production of soap, especially goat milk soap. The holidays severely depleted my current stock, but I will have some new and old favorite scents back in stock soon!
My lovely, wonderful husband made sure that for Christmas I received all the items on my baking wishlist 😁 I hope to expand in the baking department.
What I am most excited about is pick up lockers and a farmstand hopefully in the spring 🤩 Having a farmstand has been a dream of mine for some time now, and I am looking forward to this new addition! Pick up lockers will hopefully be ready in a few weeks to better accommodate customers' schedules and better respect my own time, not just as a business, but with my family.
I have also opened an online retail platform. It's still in infant stages, but I am working diligently to grow it to it's full potential ❤️
I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to where I am now. I am so grateful to my husband, family, and most of all God. He laid this little passion project on my heart to spread joy and plant seeds of His amazing love and power.
If you made it this far, thank you very much. I will end with my favorite verse from 1 Corinthians 13.
"Let all that you do, be done in love."
