Priorities change so rapidly, don’t they? We determined we can’t dedicate all the time that a growing business requires without sacrificing time with our children that we so desire right now. We applaud the new mom entrepreneurs that find the right balance, as that is an insurmountable feat we couldn’t achieve. This is the most bittersweet news we’ve had to deliver… we are closing our business.
We opened Lady James four years ago with eager hearts thrilled to begin our entrepreneurship journey. We navigated through so many obstacles: opening a business in the middle of a pandemic, being two females in their twenties learning how to be business owners, the inherent challenges of operating a business with your sister, both of us being pregnant at the same time, major health complications and then our most difficult challenge yet… motherhood accompanied with a new business.
We were very fortunate to have had an incredible support system along the way. We are forever grateful for our fantastic employees, extremely supportive parents, loving spouses, family and friends who made our business a success.
We want to thank all of our clients who made this dream a reality. We met so many wonderful people, from all walks of life, and learned so much through this experience. (Don’t worry if you have an existing appointment, we are completing everything as scheduled before we officially close.)
We had this rare opportunity at such young ages; it seemed as if all the stars had aligned for us. We took a leap of faith and embarked on this sister business venture without a second thought. We had high highs and low lows, but overall it was a once in a lifetime experience that we will cherish forever.
I hope that we can inspire other young female entrepreneurs to follow their dreams and pursue their passions. Just know that anything really is possible with a lot of hard work, a little luck and endless perseverance. You can achieve whatever you put your mind to if you don’t take no for an answer, because you’ll get 100 no’s for every yes.
This was our first business, but probably not our last. Goodbye for now, Lady James.
