SPIRIT WEAR SET UPDATE ❤️
Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on the Spirit Wear sets!
When I opened this pre-order, the estimated turnaround time was 4–6 weeks, and we are just now coming up on that sixth week. I checked in with my vendor last week, and at that time, she said everything was still on schedule for the expected arrival to her.
I did purposely choose to order these through a vendor here in the United States. However, the sets themselves are being made by a manufacturer specifically for our order. These aren’t pre-made sets sitting on a shelf waiting to ship. The colors were chosen for our specific schools/sets, and the manufacturer is producing the quantities that were ordered. So, for example, if I ordered 40 sets, they are actually making those 40 sets for us.
Unfortunately, once they’re in transit, neither my vendor nor I have control over customs, shipping delays, etc. Believe me, I wish we did! 😂
And this is exactly why pre-orders make me a little nervous. We live in a world where we want everything right here, right now — and trust me, I’M THE SAME WAY. 😂 This was my first time opening a pre-order quite like this, but because I wasn’t sure what the interest would be, I couldn’t justify purchasing a huge amount of inventory without knowing how they would sell.
I’ve actually been gauging interest in doing another set pre-order, but I’m currently trying to source those myself so I can eliminate the third party altogether. That’s a process, too! Manufacturers have minimum order quantities, samples can cost $50+ just to see if the quality meets my standards, and then I have to decide how much inventory I can realistically invest in. Being a small business in a small rural community, those are things I really have to take into consideration before jumping in.
So, where are we now? The sets are expected to arrive to my vendor this week. They will NOT be in my hands this week. Once she receives them, she will turn around and ship them to me. I’m hopeful I’ll have them sometime next week, but until I have actual tracking in hand, I don’t want to promise a specific day. And a side note…UPS has not been delivering everyday. They deliver 2-3 times a week here🥴 which has been a little frustrating in itself.
The second I get that tracking, I’ll know more — and the second those boxes hit my doorstep, I promise I will get to work and get these sets finished and out to you guys as quickly as I possibly can!
