Yep. On April 9, 1865, the Civil War ended at Virginia's Appomattox Courthouse, when the Army of the confederacy surrendered to the Union Army π₯
The end of the Civil War helped the Emancipation Proclamation, by stopping "states' rights" for slavery, and it legally ended slavery in the United States π
Three Significant Amendments were added to the United States Constitution between December of 1865 - February of 1870 π
13 - Abolished slavery except for in the form of servitude βοΈ
14 - Gave citizenship to all people born in the U.S., reversing the 1662 Virginia Colonial law of heredity slavery π
15 - Legalized voting rights for Black men π³
