I need help from someone who loves to work with their hands and could see themselves working here long term! Bag inventory is embarrassingly low. I do have 2 of these Tool Bag Crossbodys available though.

Also, if anyone is looking for part-time or full-time work, please come talk to me. In addition to needing help making leather goods, there are quite a few video-related tasks that could also be helpful for me.

I just finished a few Tool Bag Crossbodys. I’m going to bump up the price from $195 to $225 tomorrow. I’m not trying to create a sense or urgency but rather feel like it is the polite thing to do to mention that.

I hope you guys like this video. I pulled out my old lens for the zoomed in shots. I forgot how cool it can be looking super close up.

I talk about my inspiration tool bag all day long at the shop, but I don’t show it very often here. This is another “making of” video. This time it’s the Tool Bag Weekender. I have 2 natural ones and 2 navy ones available right now. Current lead time on bags is about a month.

I just finished my last handsewn tote. I think it came out pretty sweet. The most fun part of making it is dropping the interior into the exterior.

If you saw my stories, you’ll know how tough these are on my wrists. I have one used handsewn tote on display that I’d be happy to sell, but otherwise I don’t think I am going to take on any more of these handsewn commissions.

Working on some cash clips today. I love these little guys.

I was going to source these clips online originally, but all the clips seemed cheap and didn’t match the quality of the wallet. I made the first few using the heavy duty hangers you get from the dry cleaners, and I bent them with needle nose pliers.

I’ve since moved up to stainless steel rods and a sweet metal bending tool. I hope you enjoy the video.

Sound on is recommended. I think they call it ASMR.

This is the first video I made for my TikTok account. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to be on TikTok and how all these small businesses keep “blowing up” because of TikTok. I am extremely skeptical and don’t want to waste my life away, but nevertheless, I’m going to dip my toe in.

“I love that it has feet” is something I hear almost every day. I tried to capture the sounds from a few of the feet steps in this video. (see what I did there?) Whether you watch with or without sound, I hope you like it!

It never gets old seeing how leather ages. All 3 of these business card holders started out the same color. From top to bottom: new, 1.5 years of use, and a few years of use.

All the leathers get darker and smoother, but the change is most dramatic with the lightest color leathers. This specific leather is the natural color of the cow's skin without any dyes. Whether the cow has brown, black, or white hair, this is always the skin color.

When customers ask me for my preference, I always encourage them to go light, but what do I know, I’m only a professional leather worker.

Just finished up a few Tool Bag Purses that came out pretty sweet. (Bag #'s 340-343) Getting up there!

I also just got the email from YouTube that I surpassed 500 subscribers to my channel. Unfortunately, they don't send a plaque until you get to 100,000.

I have a couple new wallet designs in the shop that I've been meaning to share online--one for a passport and another that holds a phone. I'll get around to that soon. Happy President's Day!

My bag isn't quite as snow white as it was 3 years ago when I started carrying it, but it looks pretty nice sitting in some of the last untouched snow in Norfolk.

I don't know if it is allowed, but the top deck of the Boush Street Garage would be the perfect spot to take the kids sledding today. Finish it off with some soup from Stockpot and a loaded waffle from Granby Waffle Shop for the kids... guess I'm still thinking in snow day mode. Time to get sewing again!
