I began Quilts by Kristy in 2010 with the ultimate goal of being a stay-at-home parent while still providing an income for our family. What started as a small endeavor has grown into a wonderfully busy business though a lot of hard work and the recommendations of my loyal clients. Each day I am able to work on beautiful quilts and return them to clients who are always so happy to see the finished

product; I couldn't ask for a better job! Quilts by Kristy provides longarm quilting services on two Gammill Statler Stitchers. This means that patterns are digital, and therefore the quality of my quilting is very consistent. As a science teacher by trade, I am very meticulous, and that is reflected in my work. Conversely, I rarely do freehand work because I dislike the unpredictability of the stitching. Both of my machines can fit quilts with a width of 120" or less (there is no limit to the length). At this point, I am no longer creating any T-shirt quilts or doing custom quilting; these types of services require too much time away from my family. Always feel free to email, call, or text with questions you have regarding a quilt; we can work together to pick out the perfect pattern and thread to finish your special project.

Cheryl stitched up the sweetest welcome for her new granddaughter with this charming patchwork quilt full of playful prints, soft pinks, cheerful florals, and the cutest woodland friends tucked throughout. The simple squares let each fabric shine, creating a quilt that feels both timeless and full of personality.

For quilting, she chose Ginger Flower, a delicate floral design that adds beautiful texture while perfectly complementing the garden-inspired fabrics. The soft curves and flower motifs bring everything together, creating a quilt that’s as lovely to cuddle as it is to admire.

What a special gift to celebrate a brand-new little girl and the beginning of so many treasured memories.

Sue was given a collection of antique quilt blocks and has been thoughtfully turning them into finished quilts to share with members of her church community. Each quilt carries a bit of history, paired with a message of faith, making every gift especially meaningful.

This group features a variety of traditional blocks and vintage fabrics, each one brought together with fresh borders, quilting, and finishing touches.

One of the most special details is found on the back of each quilt: an embroidered Bible verse chosen to encourage and uplift the recipient.

It’s a beautiful way to preserve these treasured blocks while creating something that can be used, loved, and passed along for years to come.

Donna continues her tradition of making a quilt for each of her great-grandchildren, and these two are headed off to be loved for years to come.

The first is a bright and cheerful quilt she calls Rainbow Squares. The colorful prints pop against the bold background fabrics, creating a fun, playful design full of energy. It’s quilted in Ikat, adding movement and texture that complements all the vibrant colors beautifully.

Her second quilt was designed to give the look of a bargello, using carefully arranged squares to create flowing waves across the quilt top. The shades of green and gold blend together so nicely, and Cindy’s Water was a great quilting choice to enhance the movement throughout the design.

What a special gift for each great-grandchild to receive a handmade quilt created just for them. 💕🧵

Two beautiful quilts from Megan, the creative mind behind Sew Simply Meg!

The first quilt is her Apis pattern, featuring the upcoming Ruby Star Society collection 1-800-Calico, which is scheduled for release this October. The hexagon design showcases the playful prints and colors beautifully, while the soft pink background ties everything together. I quilted this one in Fable, adding a layer of whimsical florals and swirls that complement the cheerful, garden-inspired feel of the quilt.

The second quilt uses Megan’s Riverwoods Gingham pattern and is another wonderful showcase of Ruby Star Society fabrics. The patchwork layout lets each print shine, from typewriters and fish to checkerboards and cats. It’s quilted in Bubbles, a playful design that adds texture and movement without competing with the bold fabrics.

If you’d like to make either of these quilts yourself, you can find the patterns on Megan’s website at SewSimplyMeg.com.

Kathi created this wonderfully spooky Halloween quilt featuring vintage-inspired prints, playful pennants, pumpkins, skeletons, and plenty of eerie charm. The black, white, and pumpkin-orange color palette gives it a classic Halloween feel while letting all of the fun details shine.

To complement the theme, I quilted it with Tizzy, which creates a swirling pattern that reminds me of glowing moons drifting through a Halloween night sky. The movement of the quilting adds great texture across the quilt while keeping the focus on the striking panel and pieced borders.

And the backing fabric deserves a mention too: those needle-and-thread spider webs were the perfect finishing touch for this delightfully creepy creation!

Katie created this charming I Spy quilt using Economy Blocks, each one showcasing a different focus fabric for little eyes to discover. From animals and food to toys and everyday objects, there’s something new to spot in every block.

The black-and-white setting fabric was a wonderful choice, providing strong contrast that babies are naturally drawn to while also making the colorful centers pop. It’s a quilt that will be fun to explore for years to come.

To finish it off, we quilted it with a brand-new design called Magnifying Glasses: the perfect complement to an I Spy quilt! The playful motif adds texture and movement while tying in beautifully with the search-and-find theme.

Brenda stitched up this bold Hawkeyes quilt as a special birthday gift that will be given later this summer. The classic black and gold color palette paired with the Iowa-themed prints makes it a fun project for any devoted fan.

The simple diamond layout lets the feature fabric take center stage, while the Overflow quilting adds soft movement and texture across the entire quilt.

This one is sure to be a well-loved gift when July rolls around. Thank you, Brenda, for letting me help put the finishing touches on this Hawkeye treasure!

Vicki created the sweetest jungle-themed quilt, full of cheerful colors and adorable animals that are sure to bring smiles for years to come. The playful panel is perfectly framed with coordinating prints in aqua, lime, and sunny yellow, giving the whole quilt a bright and happy feel.

For the quilting, we chose Leafy Garland, a design that echoes the tropical theme while adding soft texture throughout the quilt. The flowing leaves and curves complement the playful fabrics without overpowering the fun animal prints.

The quilt is finished with a cozy Fireside backing, making it extra soft and cuddly; perfect for snuggles, story time, and little adventures.

Linda’s latest quilt is a wonderful example of how a limited color palette can create such a striking design. The rich browns and creamy neutrals give this quilt a warm, timeless feel, while the repeating geometric blocks create plenty of movement across the quilt top.

For the quilting, we chose Terrace, a leafy design that adds soft texture and complements the natural tones of the fabrics beautifully. The gentle curves of the quilting provide a lovely contrast to the structured piecing, helping each block stand out while tying the entire quilt together.

The coordinating pebble-print backing is the perfect finishing touch, adding even more interest and texture to this beautifully cohesive quilt. Thank you, Linda, for sharing another gorgeous project! 🤎🍂

Pam always comes up with something unique, and this quilt is no exception! Using a pattern of her own design, affectionately called “Winging It”, she combined outdoor-inspired fabrics, wildlife prints, fishing lures, and rich earthy colors into a quilt that feels right at home in the woods.

To complement the theme, we quilted it with Whispering Pines, a design that adds subtle texture and echoes the natural feel of the fabrics. The quilting blends beautifully with the piecing while adding movement throughout the quilt.

From the deer and fish prints to the batiks and nature-inspired backing, this quilt is full of details that make it fun to explore. Great job, Pam! 🌲🦌🎣
