Thank you to anyone who has liked, commented, or shared anything on my page over the last year. This has helped me out tremendously. I appreciate you all so much.

It's officially been ONE YEAR since I've become a Certified Postpartum Doula. On this day a year ago, I was headed back home after spending the weekend with family when I got the email that I had passed my courses and received my certificate, and once I got back home the first thing I did was go buy a frame and printed out my certificate. I was proud of myself then, and I'm proud of myself still. I'm so thankful for all of the people I've gotten to help over the last year, whether in person or virtually. I truly love what I do and I'm glad to do it❤️

Are you wanting to breastfeed or are currently breastfeeding and need some tips to succeed? Here's a few things to make you a pro 💪

𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲: Breastfeed your baby frequently, at least 8–12 times a day, to stimulate milk production.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡: Ensure a good latch to make breastfeeding effective and comfortable for both you and your baby.

𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Stay well-hydrated and maintain a balanced diet rich in nutrients to support milk production.

𝐀𝐝𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭: Get enough rest to help your body recover and produce milk efficiently.

𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧-𝐭𝐨-𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭: Practice skin-to-skin contact with your baby, promoting bonding and enhancing milk supply.

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤: If needed, use a manual breast pump to express milk between feedings to stimulate additional milk production.

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: During feeding, gently compress your breast to maximize milk flow and encourage effective emptying.

𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐬: Ensure your breasts are fully emptied during each feeding to stimulate greater milk production.

𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Join a breastfeeding support group or consult with a lactation consultant if you encounter challenges.

Remember, every woman's body responds differently, so it's essential to be patient and listen to your body and baby's cues. If you have concerns about your milk supply, consult with a healthcare provider or lactation consultant for personalized advice.

Loved the middle name Rhett for my son but we chose Thomas (family name) and my daughters middle name was going to be Lynn after my MIL but changed to Marie after my mom who passed away.

We never had any other first name ideas😂

This ‼️‼️‼️

Elective induction around a holiday is for convenience, but not yours.

With Thanksgiving & Christmas coming up, loads of unnecessary inductions and c-sections are about to happen.

Every year there is a HUGE decrease in births on (and around)...

🔆 Christmas
🔆 New Year’s Eve/Day
🔆 Easter (changes yearly - first Sunday after the full moon in April)
🔆 Memorial Day (changes yearly - last Monday in May in the US)
🔆 Independence Day (4th of July in the US)
🔆 Thanksgiving (changes yearly - last Thursday in November)

And it’s not just the United States - it's everywhere.

How could it be that all of these holidays have lower birth rates year after year?

It’s not a coincidence - it’s about convenience.

And not YOUR convenience. The convenience of providers.

No one wants to work on holidays, and hospital birth providers have a way to make sure (for the most part) that they don’t have to.

Inductions & c-sections are rarely scheduled ON holidays, but they ARE frequently scheduled in the days leading up to, or just after, a holiday.

If you are due around a holiday, and your provider suggests an induction or c-section, it’s a good idea to question why (remember that you always have the right to decline). If there is NOT a legitimate medical reason, they may be more concerned with being home in time for a holiday dinner than your well being.
