I’ve been quietly gathering a small trove of antique and vintage Nephrite Jade Hei-Tiki that will be making the journey with me to the next week. Some of these carvings have traveled through nearly a century of history, dating back to the 1920s. Each piece is hand-carved in New Zealand by Māori artisans.

The second collection features carvings in wood, water buffalo bone, and stag antler—organic materials shaped by hand and time into wearable works of art.

Looking forward to putting these into the hands of new caretakers who appreciate their beauty, history, and cultural significance. Presale is available. If you’re interested, please send me a DM.

If your travels ever lead you to Bangkok, carve out a half-day adventure to Ayutthaya — the legendary former capital of Siam(the old name for Thailand). Founded in 1350, this once-glorious kingdom became one of Asia’s richest and most influential cities, drawing merchants and explorers from Japan, India, and Europe to its thriving streets and grand temples.

But history here is anything but peaceful. In 1767, the Burmese army laid siege to the city, leaving it burned and in ruins. What remains today is both haunting and breathtaking — ancient stone temples, crumbling Buddha statues, and sacred grounds frozen in time. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991, Ayutthaya offers a rare chance to wander freely through centuries of history without battling overwhelming crowds.

These photos were taken during my first journey through Thailand in 2006 — an unforgettable adventure that ignited my passion for travel, discovery, and exploring the unknown.

Before vintage, before painting, and before tiki, logos & branding were my first love. I spent two decades running a branding agency before selling it to fully pursue the creative world I live in today. While I left behind the full-service marketing grind, I still design brands through TruLogos.com.

LogoArchive is showcasing logo submissions from graphic designers around the world, and this one is mine. 🤙

"Lets Go Clubbing"
by Matty Rocket
Limited First Edition
2025

A mandala design featuring a collection of tribal war clubs from the South Pacific. The polychromatic color scheme draws inspiration from the traditional color palette from tribes in the Sepik River region of Papua New Guinea. This signed, limited first edition print was originally created for the Tiki-a Go Go event in Orlando, Florida.

Please note that photos may not accurately reflect the scale of the work. The print is available in 24 x 24 as a signed limited edition of 50, and 12 x 12 as a signed limited edition of 100. It does not include the frame in the photo.

I picked up these vintage tapa cloth paintings. Like usual, I’ll keep one and sell the other two. Which ones would you let go, and which one would you keep?

These were originally collected from Asei Island—one of 21 islands in Lake Sentani, Irian Jaya (Papua New Guinea). The area is renowned for its expressive bark paintings, typically made from the khombouw tree.

Sentani bark cloth often depicts fish and other aquatic life—and the region’s history as a former sea inlet separated from the ocean by volcanic activity. This history explains the presence of ocean species in the imagery.

The color palette is typically limited to natural pigments: black (charcoal), white (crushed seashell), and red (Sentani earth).
