Looking forward, looking back. A good friend dyed some of the first yarn I ever made for me. I gave away almost all of my first yarns, I tend to be very critical of myself and giving is a way to let go of that internal criticism. Receiving this gift allowed me the unique opportunity to look back at where I’ve come, the lessons I’ve learned, the mentors who guided me, as I grow with spinning yarn and processing fiber. Looking forward, I am able to see my progress, how close I am at finishing the rewards that helped me purchase my machines, and what kind of yarn I want to make in the future.
I can’t believe at how much my small team of volunteers and I have been able to accomplish in the past few months. We have three yarn/pattern kit collaborations with three different designers, we’ve made some fancy blends and have become really efficient, and we are looking forward to making more and more locally sourced fiber for our community.
Thank you, everyone. It’s a blessing to look forward while looking back.
