Today, on International Day of Charity, I just want to take a moment to personally say thank you.

Every single act of kindness has mattered more than you probably realize.

Operation Outfit was created from a simple desire to make sure veterans in healthcare facilities know they are still seen, still valued, and still remembered. Watching this community come together around that mission has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey for me.

There have been so many moments that have reminded me why we do this. The smiles, the handshakes, the stories, the hugs, and the gratitude from veterans who sometimes simply needed to know that someone still cared.

None of those moments happen without all of you.

So today, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for trusting Operation Outfit. Thank you for supporting this mission. Thank you for helping us continue to show up for veterans in our own communities.

I am so incredibly grateful for every person who has played a part in making Operation Outfit what it is today. ❤️🤍💙

Happy Birthday to Operation Outfit’s very own Ken Boes! 🎉

Today we celebrate not only Ken’s birthday, but also a veteran whose continued service to others has helped inspire the mission behind Operation Outfit.

Ken’s dedication to his fellow veterans, his hard work, and his commitment to making sure those who served are remembered and recognized have been an inspiration to all of us. His example is a reminder that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.

We are incredibly grateful for Ken, for his service to our country, and for the example he continues to set in serving the veteran community.

Today, Operation Outfit and the Oregon community are honored to recognize Stephen Vamos, a Purple Heart recipient and veteran residing at The Gardens of St. Francis in Oregon, Ohio.

In recognition of his bravery, sacrifice, and service to our country, Stephen was presented with a Purple Heart Veteran hat as a small token of the gratitude he so greatly deserves.

On Purple Heart Day, we honor Stephen and all of the courageous men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.

Stephen, thank you for your service, your bravery, and your sacrifice. 🇺🇸💜

Because those who serve our country deserve dignity and recognition.

We recently discovered that The Blade published this story about Operation Outfit over the Fourth of July, and somehow we completely missed it.🫣

We're incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to share our mission and shine a light on the veterans living in nursing homes and other facilities.

Every veteran deserves comfort and to know that their service and sacrifices are remembered. That's why we exist.🫡

As we prepare for our largest veteran outreach to date, we're looking ahead to our October Drop at Genesis Village, where we will have the privilege of serving even more local veterans with personalized care packages made possible by our generous community.

People often ask “What is in the bags” this is exactly it. Each Operation Outfit bag is filled with BRAND-NEW essentials and comfort items for veterans living in healthcare facilities.

Our standard bags may include items like:
• Clothing (shirts, pants, shorts, socks, hoodies)
• Slippers or shoes
• Comforter
• Snacks & treats
• Hygiene items
• Games, cards, or activity items
• Comfort items to brighten their day

But no two bags are exactly the same. Every veteran is different, and we do our best to personalize each bag with extra items they need, request, or would simply enjoy. Whether it’s favorite snacks, larger sizes, warmer clothing, puzzle books, or something special to make them smile, we listen and we care.

This is more than a bag. It’s dignity, comfort, and a reminder that they are remembered.
